TINGKAT KECEMASAN AKADEMIK PADA SISWA DITINJAU DARI PERBEDAAN GENDER

Kecemasan akademik adalah perasaan khawatir yang berlebihan terhadap kinerja akademik, kurikulum pendidikan, hasil ujian, atau tugas-tugas sekolah (Mahajan, 2015; Milgram & Toubiana, 1999). Kecemasan digambarkan oleh Epstein (1972) sebagai suatu keadaan di mana seseorang merasa terancam karena takut akan sesuatu yang dianggap tidak dapat diselesaikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini juga melibatkan siswa SMA di Kota Palembang sebagai partisipan sebanyak 154 siswa dengan rata-rata usia partisipan 14-17 tahun atau kelas 10-12 SMA. Mariam et al (dalam Danu et al., 2021) menyatakan bahwa faktor jenis kelamin dapat memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap tingkat kecemasan seseorang. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa perempuan memiliki risiko lebih tinggi untuk mengalami kecemasan dibandingkan laki-laki, dengan perbedaan otak dan hormonal menjadi faktor penyebab utama.
